As part of EC Young Learners, including our sister brand Embassy Summer, we have been successfully delivering outstanding summer camp experiences to young people for over 45 years. Each year we welcome thousands of students on to our award winning and quality accredited programmes across the globe.
Role Summary
The Welfare & Accommodation Manager leads the welfare and safeguarding structure within the summer school to create a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff. In addition the welfare & accommodation manager supports our best practice and compliant room allocation of everyone resident on campus, ensures relevant damage checks are carried out before arrival and pre departure.
The welfare & accommodation manager is the main point of contact for the university staff in relation to accommodation and catering requirements. They also oversee our guardian system and ensure our activity leaders are trained and aware of their responsibilities as guardians for our students.
Our welfare managers work 6 days out of 7 and this is a residential role. We provide full board accommodation as part of the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
We provide both online and face to face training for all employees. We provide a compulsory staff induction and all employees are required to take a minimum of Level 1 safeguarding training.
Working week:
Weekly pay: $1,320.00
FULL BOARD RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION INCLUDED FREE OF CHARGE
Organisational Compliance:
The job holder will be expected to operate in accordance with the company’s Code of Conduct, and any local policies and operating procedures relating to academic, welfare and safeguarding matters.
Employees are required to cooperate fully with all arrangements in place related to Health and Safety which include implementation and compliance with control measures resultant from risk assessments and engagement with, and completion of, any relevant Health and Safety training.

Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all students and staff including managing our guardian system effectively
- Responsible for checking original staff documentation and the completion of the single central register with support from the centre manager
- Maximise student satisfaction by ensuring their experience exceeds expectations
- Ensure that the correct implementation and subsequent follow ups of the welfare and health & safety systems are in place under guidance from the centre manager and head office
- Train the centre team in welfare and safeguarding procedures and ensure appropriate action is followed where issues of health, safety or welfare arise
- Ensure all students' dietary, medical, and additional needs are reviewed and relevant stakeholders informed
- Assist with / manage any relevant centre administration, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
- Assist the management team with students arrivals, departures and welcome orientation
- Manage the departure transfer logistics, including the booking of transport were necessary
- To support the centre management team to meet operational needs
- Ability to inspire others to deliver outstanding student experiences
- Experience of working with young people age 13-17
- Fluency in English
- Excellent organisational and admin skills
- Practical working knowledge of MS Office packages including Excel
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices in safeguarding minors
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Experience of working in a residential environment, ideally in a summer school / camp
- Experience of working with non-native speakers of English
- A passion for inspiring young people to aspire to be more
- Ability to lead and engage team members
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- An empathetic nature that supports student safeguarding and wellbeing
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
