Host/Server Assistant

Ember & Oak is a fast paced and high volume modern steakhouse meets share plates concept, in Historic Downtown Melbourne. We are looking for passionate and hard working people to join our team! Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Host/Server Assistant to join our dynamic team in the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional guest services, ensuring that every dining experience is memorable. This position requires excellent communication skills, a passion for food service, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Pay is an hourly rate plus tip-out.

Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
• Create and maintain the flow of service by executing a seamless floor plan.
• Present menus and provide detailed information about menu items, including daily specials.
• Assist with bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns or requests.
• Uphold food safety standards by following proper sanitation practices in all aspects of food service.
• Provide assistance to guests as needed, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety practices is essential.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members.
• A background in hospitality is a plus, showcasing your commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• A positive attitude and willingness to help others are key attributes for success in this role.

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
