Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper to join our team and ensure our campground remains a beautiful, well-maintained, and safe retreat for our visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and health of our outdoor spaces. This role requires a strong understanding of landscaping, lawn care, and the use of various hand and power tools. We are passionate about delivering an unforgettable outdoor experience while maintaining a pristine, inviting, and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Grounds Maintenance: Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, watering, and weeding to keep the grounds looking clean and welcoming.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and utility vehicles.
- Equipment Management: Monitor and maintain landscaping tools and machinery, ensuring they are in proper working order. Coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and procedures to protect staff, guests, and property. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and regulatory standards.
- Trail Care: Maintain hiking trails and paths by clearing debris, repairing erosion, and ensuring accessibility.
- Facilities Upkeep: Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of common areas, such as primitive camp sites, fire pits, outdoor kitchen grills, and recreational spaces.
- Waste Management: Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables throughout the property.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular property inspections to ensure the campground is clean, safe, and visually appealing, addressing issues promptly.
- Maintenance Assistance: Assisting the maintenance team with various tasks as needed.
- Firewood: Safely operate a tractor, ATV, chainsaw, and wood splitter to provide firewood for the guests.
- Site Preparation: Prepare new locations for unit placement, including leveling ground, clearing debris, and ensuring utility connections (e.g., water, electricity, or septic) are available and functioning properly.
- Unit transportation and setup: Safely relocate campground units, such as RVs, to designated areas within the property as needed.
- Guest Support: Assist with maintaining glamping sites, including tents, cabins, or other accommodations, as needed. Provide courteous interactions with guests if approached with questions or concerns.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot unexpected challenges such as weather-related damage, equipment failures, or wildlife management, ensuring timely solutions.
- Seasonal Tasks: Perform seasonal duties such as pool maintenance, snow removal, leaf cleanup, or pest control as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in grounds keeping, landscaping, or a related field is a plus.
- Familiarity with various hand tools and power tools used in lawn care and landscaping, and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while performing physical tasks.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and aesthetics.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
- Good communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with small engine repair for landscaping tools.
- Basic understanding of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work is a plus.
- Familiarity with native plants, trees, and wildlife management.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time or part-time hours depending on the season and operational needs.
- Typically work Monday-Friday, occasional weekends/holidays as needed.
- Closed for the week of Christmas.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28 – 40 per week
