To be a successful ICPC Coordinator you must become able to do the following always:
- Processes and tracks all incoming and outgoing Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) assignments.
- Reviews documentation including referral material, correspondence, home studies and quarterly progress reports.
- Monitors and tracks Interstate Compact requests to ensure timely completion of home studies. Ensures requirements are met for placement of children into and that financial, legal, and social service planning takes place prior to placements.
- Tracks compliance dates to ensure all Interstate Compact activities are adhered to and completed in a timely manner. Monitors to ensure that home studies do not expire prior to action being taken by internal staff.
- Organizes and maintains all materials related to children involved with interstate placements, and materials related to Interstate Compact laws and procedures.
- Reviews outgoing Interstate Compact requests to ensure documentation is sufficient and provides relevant information regarding children being presented for placement.
- Updates Interstate Compact paperwork as needed.
- Daily oral and written communication with internal staff as well as staff in sending and receiving states and state offices regarding the status of Interstate Compacts.
- Assists in resolving barriers for the placement of children both in and out of state.
- Serves as the ICPC point of contact and subject matter expert relative to the interpretation and application of ICPC policies and procedures.
- Provides consultation, guidance, assistance, and training to staff.
- Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.

To qualify for this job, you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or Human Services related field.
- Licensure – Prefer license through BSRB.
- Work Experience - Prior experience working with the Interstate Compact or the placement of children across multiple states.
- 21 years of age. Must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and physical and drug screening.
- Maintain company-required training.
- Ability to travel, drive company or personal vehicle including at night. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. The employee is subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.
