Initial Assessor - PRN

To be a successful Initial Assessor you must become able to do the following always:

• Ensure a trauma informed focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for staff and those served through knowledge, sensitivity, respect, and a focus on resilience and recovery.
• Support the permanency and cross-over case management teams by completing all initial child and family assessments.
• Attend the Initial Family Meeting and introduce themselves and schedule the initial assessment.
• Provide clear and transparent communication on the assessment process and purpose.
• Conduct the initial assessments including but not limited tothe family and child assessment, Child Stress Disorder Checklist-KS (CSDC-KS), Child Report of Post-Traumatic Symptoms (CROPS), and Ages and Stages Questionnaire – Social Emotional (ASQ-SE), safety and risk assessments, UNCOPE.
• Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.

How you will spend your time in this job:

• 80% Initial Intake Assessment
• 15% Documentation & Follow Up
• 5% Meetings and Supervision

To qualify for this job, you need to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
• License – BSRB license required.
• Work Experience – Two years of experience working in child welfare, residential or related fields.
• Strong assessment, organization, and time management skills.
• 21 years of age. Must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and physical and drug screening.
• Maintain company-required training.
• Ability to travel throughout the state.
• Physical working conditions - The employee is subject to inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.
