To be a successful Activities Specialist you must be willing and become able to do the following always:
1. Strategize, plan, coordinate and facilitate client educational, cultural, social, and recreational activities using a trauma informed approach focused on resiliency and recovery.
2. Achieve positive discharge outcomes for youth.
3. Helps youth self-manage their behavior using SCM (Safe Crisis Management) without the need for the use of emergency safety interventions.
4. Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Employee Handbook and the Guide to Successfully Manage the Milieu.
How you will spend your time in this job:
• 75% Assist OA Liaison/Activities Coordinator with planning, and facilitating client activities and groups
• 15% Documentation of client activities and response
• 5% Assist OA Liaison/Activities Coordinator with school enrollment
• 5% Participation in supervision, committees, company-wide and staff meetings
