What is a Reintegration Support Worker and What do they do?
- Reintegration is one of the four teams that make up our Permanent Department. This department's focus is to find loving, safe, and stable homes for the children we serve. The Reintegration Team focuses on reestablishing Bio Families. Working one-on-one with multiple families, this position requires a lot of emotional restraint and mental fortitude to tackle the various challenges of the job.
- Using the skills you learn in this role will enable you to support the Reintegration Case Managers with their caseload.
- As a Support Worker, you became a mandatory reporter; with this responsibility comes training to spot abuse and to help mitigate and deal with subsequent behaviors that result from it.
- Timely adherence to details, strict deadlines, and court orders are vital habits for those who want to succeed in this role. As a Successful Reintegration Support Worker you will be taught to do the following:
- Ensure a trauma informed focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for staff and those served through knowledge, sensitivity, respect, and a focus on resilience and recovery.
- Provide direct supervision and support of supervisees utilizing the agency model for supervision, Supervision for Success.
- Coordinate and supervise client visits with families. Assist with completion of assessment packets and monthly contact. Provide parenting and life skills training and development. Implement tasks identified on case plans to help families. Attend case plan meetings as needed. Assist families with identifying, locating, and accessing basic resources and community support systems.
- Document 100% of direct services provided to the team staff assistant within one week of the occurrence. Submit required monthly reports to supervisor. Complete visitation record requests.
- Transport families and clients. Travel in state to assure client contact as needed.
- Collaborate with Permanency Specialist, Permanency Services Team, internal, and external stakeholders, demonstrating problem-solving/facilitation skills. Participate in individual and Permanency Services Unit/Dyad supervision once a month or as needed with the supervisor.
- Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.
