Lead Facility Maintenance

POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades, carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Manage multiple facility support functions ensuring teamwork and a commitment to excellence in providing consistent and high-quality services to internal clients.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

Ø Responsible for developing bid criteria, bid analysis, and project management for infrastructure improvements.

Ø Responsible for managing EAMS maintenance program.

Ø Responsible for oversight and coordination of outside contractors, oversees all building improvements and is responsible for overall labor and material used to accomplish projects.

Ø Will ensure all work is performed to meet regulatory codes and standards.

Ø Uses building maintenance and/or any other project management software systems as needed.

Ø Close interaction with customers including department heads and Sr. Leadership.

Ø Adheres to standard operating procedures and ensures positive interaction; leads the team with confidence in meeting the employees' needs to do their work effectively.

Ø Coordinate activities with others, to assure seamless support among the different support services, departments and transitions between shifts.

Ø The candidate is a leader - and accountable - in quality assurance and improvement for department; and is responsible for all aspects of employee leadership including hiring, disciplinary action, scheduling, performance evaluation, training and competency checks.

Ø Successful candidates must have a high degree of competence in organizational agility, customer focus, developing direct reports and others, managerial courage and building effective teams.

Ø Operates vehicles, such as van, industrial truck or industrial vacuum cleaner.

Ø Assists in the pick-up and delivery of parts, equipment and supplies.

Ø Provide vendor/contractor security escort as needed.

Ø Assist maintenance personnel with minor maintenance and repairs to facility equipment as needed (i.e. replace lights, unstop drains, etc.)

Ø Complete maintenance request task as assigned from maintenance scheduling software.

Ø Other facility task as required.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ø High School/ GED

Ø Certificate of Attendance

Ø Certificate of Completion

Ø Advanced Technician Role, requiring Advanced Skills to perform all standard tasks within the Technical Area assigned to.

Ø Generally at least 5-7 years of experience in construction, engineering or facilities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ø Must have experience with hand tools and power tools.

Ø High degree of technical aptitude and skill to learn the function and repair of plant production equipment.

Ø Equipment Maintenance-Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

Ø Repairing-Repairing machines or systems following manufacturer’s manuals.

Ø Troubleshooting-Determining cause of operating errors recommends corrective action.

Ø Installation-Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.

Ø Self-Starter able to take direction, problem solves to repair and maintain equipment and systems.

Ø Team Player, Think Strategically, Knowledge and Experience, use independent Sound Judgement, Use Technical/Functional Expertise, Establish Plans, Manage Execution

Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements

Ø Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.

Ø Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required

Ø Perform physical activities that requires considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
