The Opportunity
The Department of Accounting, Economics, Finance, & Information Sciences (AEFIS) is seeking an organized, proactive, and reliable Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive support to ensure the smooth operation of the department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day administrative functions, assisting with events, coordinating office supplies, and supporting faculty, staff, and students across multiple academic programs. This position is essential to maintaining the efficiency of the faculty suite and supporting the department's engagement in College and University activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage academic documents (syllabi, course outlines, office hours, enrollment reports) and semester records (address lists, rosters) for the AEFIS Department.
- Maintain the college event calendar, textbook records, and office supplies.
- Hire and schedule student assistants, graders, and tutors. Supervise and manage student employees.
- Coordinate faculty conference registrations, travel, and document disposal.
- Oversee faculty suite operations, including equipment repairs, office supplies, and coverage.
- Submit expense reports and manage budgets for the AEFIS Department and Doctoral Program.
- Support the College’s Assessment and Accreditation processes, assist with data reports, and attend departmental meetings.
- Facilitate events, including room reservations, catering, and calendar invites. Assist in planning college-wide events and programs.
- Provide administrative support for the Aviation Business Administration Doctoral program, including managing budgets, responding to inquiries, and coordinating marketing materials.
- Assist with the College of Business Master’s Program events, marketing, and orientation planning.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of an associate degree or completion of program of 18 months after high school.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of administrative experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Strong ability to multitask.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working within higher education is preferred.
