Performs moderately complex data reporting as well as error review and correction. Gathers and submits documents and data for NCCI work comp reporting.. Communicates with various teams on procedures, corrections and training to support accurate and timely reporting. Completes basic monthly reporting obligations for states.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Data Collection
- Performs moderately complex reporting as well as error review and correction
- Gathers and submits data for National Council in Compensation Insurance (NCCI) and independent states
- Extracts data using data extraction tools such as Excel and SQL
Data Analysis
Reviews and analyzes moderately complex data requests from within and outside EMC involving premium, loss, and accounting dataAnalyzes requests and determines the most suitable way to submit dataVerifies data using available data extraction tools and ExcelReconciles statistical data to financial data and investigates and corrects discrepanciesAnalyzes errors and explains data irregularities to insurance reporting bureaus or statesReviews test data for accuracy and reasonableness. Notifies teams about discrepanciesWorks with hired vendors / consultants to determine the process for submitting and correcting dataCommunication
Communicates with corporate office teams and branches on procedures, corrections, and training to support systemsRequests system changesContacts bureaus, such as NCCI or Insurance Service Office (ISO) and states to ask questions related to reportsProvides guidance to Claims, Underwriting, Accounting, and the branches on collecting, editing, handling, storing, and reporting statistical data to comply with reporting requirementsPartners with outside vendors to answer questions and resolve issuesCompliance
Monitors state websites for updates regarding industry changes, new reporting requirements, and data reporting deadlinesMaintains documentation of data requests and logs of data submissions. Monitors systems to ensure that all submission guidelines are metProvides backup for team. Reviews and enters payments in the accounts payable system and Workday.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in math, finance, accounting, business or related field or equivalent relevant experienceTwo years of data reporting or related experiencePrior insurance industry experience preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
