Job Title: Solar Project Developer
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- The use of analytical and observational skills demonstrates an ability to organize, budget, and control the estimating process.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, design-build projects, and prepare material takeoff lists based on scope.
- An understanding of the fundamentals associated with overhead, insurance, & taxes.
- Adept at using computers and associated software quickly & efficiently; specific knowledge and hands-on use with Bluebeam Revu, MS Office – intermediate level abilities with Excel and Accubid.
- Excellent knowledge of the Company’s industry and trends impacting its business.
- Able to comprehend and perform business math calculations necessary to accurately prepare job estimates and quotes and calculate gross profit margins and related costs.
- Ability to execute tasks accurately in a high-pressure environment.
- A strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and drive to succeed.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.
- A willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
- Willingness to pursue continuing education, such as certifications from the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) and the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACE).
Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)
- 4-year College Degree in a related field required
- Advanced degree in Solar Energy or Construction Management preferred.
- 4 years of estimating experience in construction/ commercial environments, preferably in solar photovoltaic & electrical projects.
- Corresponding field experience in the solar photovoltaic industry is a plus.
- Completion of an electrician training program is a plus.
- Experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Proficient in Energy Toolbase
- Fluent in Excel and Helioscope
- AutoCAD experience is a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
- Travel to meet with customers & site walks.

Compensation Range: $120,000 - $136,000 per year
