Emerald Coast Autism Center (ECAC) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to educating and improving the lives of children and young adults diagnosed with autism and related unique abilities. ECAC is unique in our approach to teaching these amazing children. All instruction and activities at the ECAC are consistent with the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
The Registered Behavior Technician role will apply ABA therapy to the student at the direction of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BCBA) over programming. This is a full-time position, requiring the employee to work a minimum of 32 hours a week (Monday-Friday) and a maximum of 40 hours a week. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work one-to-one implementing ABA therapy with multiple students diagnosed with autism and related disabilities
- Follow the ethical guidelines as stated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- Maintain a credential as a Registered Behavior Therapist (RBT), CPR, and CPI
- Teach students to acquire language, academic, social, and self-help skills as determined by their individualized treatment plan written by the BCBA
- Maintain a high percentage of engagement/on-task time- interact in a fun manner with the students
- Implement appropriate prompts as needed
- Complete daily paperwork and data collection in a detailed, accurate, consistent, and timely manner on the Catalyst software program
- Function as an active member of the treatment team, working with other therapists, Behavior Analysts, and the family to implement the student’s treatment plan
- Communicate professionally with parents, BCBAs, trainers, other therapists, and staff
- Maintain confidentiality about clients, families, and center by abiding by all HIPAA regulations
- Exhibit initiative and ability to work well independently, while working as an effective team member
- Take direction from others and receive constructive feedback positively
- Actively participate in staff training programs designed to increase overall skills
- Participate in the monthly staff meeting

- Requirement: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- All applicants must pass a background check.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, utilize hand and finger dexterity, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl, talk, and hear
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 10 pounds
- The employee must be able to operate an iPad or tablet to take documentation of the session
