OVERVIEW:
Edwards Family Companies is seeking a Junior Estimator to assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects. This role involves reviewing project specifications, analyzing labor and material costs, and supporting senior estimators in bid preparation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within the industry.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects
- Analyze blueprints, project plans, and specifications
- Research material, labor, and equipment costs
- Support bid preparation and submission processes
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing
- Collaborate with project managers and senior estimators
- Maintain estimate documentation and cost databases
- Preparing client bids, following up, and communicating with new and existing clients
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years of experience in construction estimating, project coordination, or related role preferred
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Salary : $28 - $40
