Senior Editor

Reporting to the Content Director, the Senior Editor will be a principal writer for the Small Business Xchange and its associated sister brands, their websites, and their social media platforms. The Senior Editor will also play a key role in repurposing of content in a variety of formats across all digital channels and growing custom content creation.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a lead writer responsible for both long- and short-form feature writing for online, digital and Lead Gen channels
• Assist in editorial production by proofreading and copyediting content and working directly with industry contributors and freelance writers, as necessary
• Focus on content development for digital and social media platforms
• Manage the repurposing of content from sister publications and trade shows across channels, including video/audio/print content for social media, webinars, and more
• Work closely with Content Director to grow the brands’ online presence and reach across social media
• Write and edit custom content projects for customers in the industry
• Attend and cover industry trade shows and conferences, as assigned
• Represent the brand at various industry events and functions, as assigned
• Use and incorporate generative AI in an ethical and responsible manner to help fuel growth, boost production and assist with Lead Gen strategies

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in business writing, feature writing and editing for media, preferably B2B, with significant experience writing in-depth articles on small business
• Strong knowledge of writing for and posting on digital platforms, SEO best practices and Lead Gen best practices
• Ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of a variety of SMB products and platforms to help small business owners and operators navigate rapid changes in technology affecting the way they run their businesses
• Experience with social media best practices for media, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X and others
• Excellent copyediting and communication skills
• Strong knowledge of AP style
• Proficiency in WordPress CMS, InDesign, Photoshop, and the Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with Photoshop or related image-editing program for basic photo resizing
• Knowledge of or strong interest in the small business sector
• Experience using generative AI to drive outcomes
• An energetic and positive mindset

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Target Compensation: $65,000-70,000

Please note that this range reflects a reasonable estimate of the target compensation for this position. This range may ultimately vary based on a candidate’s qualifications and may be higher where required by applicable law.
