Job Overview:
The Program Coordinator for the recovery residency is responsible for the daily management and coordination of recovery programs and services. The Program Coordinator ensures that residents receive consistent support and that program activities run smoothly. This role involves direct interaction with residents, managing program schedules, and working closely with staff to facilitate individual recovery plans. The Program Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a positive and structured environment that promotes long-term recovery. The coordinator needs to have significant flexibility in their schedule and may be required to work weekends and various shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the recovery programs, ensuring all activities align with the residence’s goals and mission.
- Coordinate the delivery of services, including group counseling sessions, life skills workshops, and other recovery-focused activities.
- Develop and manage program schedules, ensuring timely delivery of services and resident participation.
- Facilitate the intake and orientation process for new residents, helping them understand program rules, services, and expectations.
- Work with Case Managers and Clinical Staff to ensure residents have individualized recovery plans that are being followed and updated as needed.
- Monitor resident progress and provide ongoing support, addressing concerns, and connecting them to appropriate resources as necessary.
- Supervise program staff ensuring they are fulfilling their roles and responsibilities effectively.
- Assist the Program Manager in organizing staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all program activities.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on program policies, resident engagement strategies, and crisis intervention.
- Work closely with the Program Manager, Clinical Service Supervisor, Medical Director, and other staff to coordinate services and ensure a cohesive approach to resident care.
- Serve as the main point of contact for external partners, such as referral sources, service providers, and community organizations.
- Communicate regularly with residents and their families, keeping them informed about progress and addressing any concerns.
- Respond to and manage day-to-day issues or crises that arise within the program, providing conflict resolution and ensuring resident safety.
- Escalate serious incidents or concerns to the Program Manager or Clinical Service Supervisor as necessary.
- Identify areas for improvement within the program and provide suggestions to enhance service delivery and resident outcomes.
- Help implement changes to program activities and services based on feedback from residents, staff, and stakeholders.
- Transport residents as necessary
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalency is required.
- Certification in addiction recovery or counseling (e.g., CADC) is a plus, but not required.
- Adult Peer Support Specialist certified or eligible for the certification.
- 3 years experience working with addiction is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program coordination or management within a recovery residence, mental health facility, or substance abuse treatment setting.
- Experience working with individuals in recovery or with substance use disorders.
- If in recovery, two (2) years of continuous sobriety.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse populations.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with client management software.
- Strong problem-solving and crisis-management skills.
- Believes in leading by example and servant leadership so that others who report to them want to follow with enthusiasm.
- Excellent communication skills that foster teamwork and high morale.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for 2-5 years
- Recovery knowledge/knowledge of the 12 steps/working with a sponsor (Required)
