The School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions (SNAHP) at Indiana University Kokomo invites applications for the position of Dean of SNAHP. Start date is negotiable, but June 2, 2025, is preferred.
The Dean of the School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions leads approximately 27 full-time faculty, 26 part-time faculty, and 4 staff. The school offers degrees in Prelicensure Nursing, Second Degree Nursing, Master of Sciences in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner, Administration, and Nursing Education), RN to BSN, Radiology Technology, and Occupational Therapy Assistants, as well as several online collaborative degrees. As the chief academic officer of School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions, the Dean reports to the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The Dean serves as a member of the Dean’s Council, working with all vice chancellors and varied constituencies to ensure the School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions’ success in fulfilling its obligations to the campus, Indiana University, and to our healthcare partners.

The campus is seeking a proven leader who is collaborative and innovative. The ideal candidate for this position will offer demonstrated leadership abilities and a strong vision for the School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions future. The Dean will participate in a collaborative campus environment, representing the school on and off the campus. The Dean will lead and monitor the School’s activities, including setting goals and priorities for the School; working with faculty and staff to respond to campus priorities, such as student success initiatives, new programs, and new courses; recruiting and evaluating faculty; supporting faculty development; securing and allocating resources, including management of the school’s budget; conducting annual evaluations of faculty and staff; overseeing assessment and accreditation for all programs within the school; and ensuring good community relations.
One of eight campuses of Indiana University, Indiana University Kokomo, is a comprehensive non-residential campus located 50 miles north of Indianapolis in Kokomo, Indiana, a city with a population of about 60,000. Basic Qualifications
- An earned doctorate in a discipline represented in the school, or a closely related field, e.g. DNP, EdD, or PhD.
- A record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service sufficient for tenure and the rank of associate professor.
- A collegial and transparent style of leadership that will support faculty and staff in their efforts to provide an excellent academic environment.
- At least three years of administration experience at the level of department chair or higher, or an equivalent record of program development leadership, and administration which includes supervisory experience.
- Budget management experience.
