Position Summary
The Physics Department at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a postdoctoral position in lattice field theory. This position will help in preparing for the next leadership class computer funded by the National Science Foundation. The position is focused on performance analysis and optimization of the MILC code and the libraries it calls such as QUDA or Grid. The successful applicant can expect to interact extensively with members of the Fermilab Lattice and MILC Collaborations.
The position may start as soon as February 1, 2025 and the applicant should indicate how soon it would be possible to start. Review of applications will begin December 1, and continue until the position is filled.
A Ph.D. in theoretical physics with work in lattice field theory is required by the time the position is started. Applications should include a cover letter and CV and should detail the applicant’s familiarity and experience with the following lattice QCD codes: MILC, QUDA, and Grid. Any experience with performance analysis tools and production running on supercomputers should also be described. Three letters of recommendation will be required.
