Title
Postdoctoral Position in Theoretical Quantum Liquids at Indiana University
Appointment Status
Non-Tenure Track
Department
IU Bloomington Physics
Location
Bloomington
Position Summary
The Physics Department at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellowship in theoretical condensed matter physics, with a focus on quantum liquids in one-dimensional systems. The successful candidate will contribute to advanced theoretical simulations of these systems, collaborating closely with leading experimental experts in the field.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work with Professor Adrian Del Maestro’s research group at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where the candidate will be primarily based. The appointment can begin as early as December 1, 2024, and is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year based on performance.
A Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics is required by time of appointment. The proposed research will leverage multiple computational many-body techniques (including classical and quantum Monte Carlo, molecular dynamics, and ab initio methods) and experience with high performance computation will be strongly advantageous. Applications, including a CV, a statement of research interests, and three letters of reference, should be submitted through the application portal located at:
