Overview
The Finance Manager leads all day-to-day accounting operations, with functional responsibility for accounting and accounts receivable and payable. Responsibilities also include producing financial reports, proper maintenance of accounting records; accurate processing of financial transactions; and administering a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhancing the accuracy of the agency’s reported financial results.
Duties
Management:
- Provide sound financial insights to help make better decisions about formulating and executing strategy, and provide guidance and analysis to executives to improve results.
- Maintain a system of accounts and keep books and records on all transactions and assets.
- Prepare and analyze accurate financial and management reports, including income statement, balance sheet, budget and variance, projections and forecast, and cash flow.
- Oversees the financial department, including general ledger, accounts payable, expense reports, billing, payroll, etc.
- Administer payroll using various tools and partnering with ADP to deliver flawless payments.
- Assist in grants reporting, writing, compliance, and reconciliation.
Transactional:
- Ensure that all financial transactions are processed accurately, promptly, and per generally accepted accounting principles.
- Develop, implement, and maintain processes and controls that are current best practices related to transaction processing.
- Manage processing all of the following transactions: payroll, accounts payable, revenue and expense, fixed assets, cash, bank reconciliations, and allocations.
- Provide prompt communication to the supervisor regarding any findings, errors, or system concerns.
- Perform necessary and year-end closing procedures, entries, and reconciliations.
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
Required Skills and Knowledge:

Required Training and Experience:
- HS diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience in financial management.
- Strong demonstrated use of QuickBooks, Excel, Google Sheets, Google Workspace Suite applications.
- Vehicle, drivers license, and proof of insurance
- Proven experience in financial management roles with a strong emphasis on financial analysis and leadership.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present it effectively to stakeholders.
Desired Training and Experience:
- BA or BS in economics, finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
- 5 years experience in a non-profit financial management position.
