Emergency Vehicles, Inc has been in business for over 50 years. We manufacture specialty vehicles for fire, law enforcement, military, and commercial applications. We build truck bodies for mounting on commercial chassis and offer conversion work on vans, SUVs, trailers, and other projects as required per customer specifications
Responsibilities:
Read through and be familiar with specifications and engineering drawings related to each job in production. Make sure job folders are up to date and available to view as needed.
Maintain knowledge of all jobs in process from production start to final delivery.
Monitor job progress and perform daily quality checks to verify task are done correctly and meet quality standards.
Monitor stock of sheet metal, aluminum and steel tubing and extrusions, fasteners, and other required items for jobs in process and requests materials be ordered in a timely fashion to have them in stock when needed.
Ensure each team member is working safely, using safety equipment, and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
Report daily progress to the Plant Manager.
Report any issues to the Plant Manager that may cause delays in production or otherwise interrupt the daily workflow.
Report any injuries or personnel issues immediately to the Plant Manager.
NOTE: This is not a desk job and you will have no supervisory responsibilities to begin with but you could move into the Project Manager position with in the first year based on your performance . You will spend 90% of your time on the shop floor evaluating, and monitoring the production process. You will also be performing quality control checks as needed on components being fabricated. You must be accustom to working in the Florida heat and humidity. Most of the shop is undercover and protected from the sun and rain but there is no air conditioning. Shop fans are placed through out the shop and can be relocated to specific work areas as needed.
Other Duties:
Assist with quality inspections during production and prior to vehicle deliveries.
Assist as needed with taking progress pictures and final delivery pictures.
Drive a forklift to move materials, unload deliveries, and assist as needed.
Make material pickups from local vendors as needed using company vehicle.
Monitor the facility and shop equipment for cleanliness and required maintenance.
Assist as needed with facility maintenance and clean-up.
Previous Experience Preferred:
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding steel and aluminum
