Hours: Monday-Friday (10 hour shifts) with one Saturday every quarter
The Pre-Op/PAT/PACU Coordinator, under the Director of Clinical Operations, leads daily operations to achieve clinical strategic goals in line with regulatory standards and facility values. Responsibilities include overseeing Pre-Operative, Pre-Anesthesia Testing, and Post-Operative Surgical Services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Administrative duties encompass cost management, staffing, scheduling, and support for Risk Management, Infection Control, and Employee Health. Collaborating on policy development and implementation, the coordinator promotes quality patient care while supporting the facility's mission and values. Working alongside the Director, they monitor and evaluate policies to ensure cost-effective, safe, and high-quality care delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing with current and valid licensure with the NC State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years previous Pre-op/PAT/PACU nursing experience required
- Knowledge of State, Federal, and AAAHC regulations and standards related to healthcare
- Must be able to achieve ACLS and PALS certifications within 6 months of employment.
Primary Job Duties
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide effective patient care in PAT, PACU, and Pre-Operative units for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients as required, demonstrating clinical competence.
- Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Review daily schedule, prepare work and patient care areas, and arrange a safe care environment.
- Identify and gather supplies, equipment, and medications needed for patient care.
- Prepare staffing schedules and make assignments based on staffing tools, monitoring overtime.
- Participate in problem analysis, resolution, and decision-making for assigned units.
- Contribute to performance improvement activities to enhance care quality at Triangle Surgery Center, LLC.
- Maintain sufficient and qualified staff to meet facility needs, collaborating with the OR Coordinator and Business Office Staff for smooth daily operations.
- Assist with staff orientation and education processes.
- Participate in employee evaluations.
- Report any suspected violations of laws, regulations, or TSC Code of Conduct.
- Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA policy.
- Adhere to surgery center standards for telephone answering and follow-up.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
