Security Technical Project Manager (TPM) specializing in Identity and Access Management (IAM) for Okta implementation and clean up initiatives, with additional experience in network security practices. This is a unique blend of project management and technical execution, requiring a proactive, detail-oriented candidate eager to deliver impactful results within the IAM and cybersecurity domains. This position requires approximately 5 years of relevant experience in IAM, network security, and technical project management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Okta Administration & Reporting
Act as an Okta Read-Only Administrator.
Generate detailed reports and metrics using Okta and Google Looker dashboards.
Deliver access governance and compliance validation across the Okta platform.
2. Technical Oversight
Drive migration of data via SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) protocols from Okta to downstream platforms.
Facilitate access clean up projects to ensure continued security and compliance.
Execute network security initiatives to safeguard Okta IAM systems against vulnerabilities and cyber risks.
Perform technical clean up and implementation tasks specific to the Okta ecosystem, integrating with broader network security frameworks.
3. Network Security Implementation
Establish secure protocols for Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems to minimize risks, including proper access control policies.
Ensure alignment of Okta IAM systems with cybersecurity best practices related to:
o Network monitoring for unauthorized access attempts.
o Endpoint security integration to reduce identity-related attack surfaces.
o Encryption standards for sensitive network data during SCIM migrations.
Perform regular audits of Okta IAM systems to validate compliance with security and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2).
4. Project Management Duties (50%)
Manage multiple priorities and initiatives tied to the client s Okta IAM project and network security strategy.
Collect and document requirements for access governance, cleanup work, and ongoing validation tasks across the IAM/Network Security domains.
Organize Jira ticketing workflows and create dashboards for reporting key project and security metrics.
5. Technical Execution (50%)
Actively support Okta IAM project implementation, network security monitoring, data migrations, and cleanup tasks.
Ensure seamless network access delivery, maintain robust security protocols, and flag critical risks or blockers to safeguard progress.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to assess system vulnerabilities and implement security updates.
Required Qualifications:
Approximately 5 years of experience in IAM, network security, and technical project management.
Strong Okta IAM experience, including projects involving Okta implementation and cleanup tasks.
Familiarity with network security fundamentals, including encryption, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management.
Working knowledge of tools such as Jira (for ticketing workflows) and Google Looker (for dashboards and metrics reporting).
Understanding of access governance and IAM systems, including SCIM protocols for data migration.
Strong interpersonal and proactive problem-solving skills within IAM and network security domains.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent hands-on experience with Okta cleanup projects or post-college experience with IAM implementation is a plus.
Technical knowledge of network security tools such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and security information and event management (SIEM).
Familiarity with security initiatives and technical systems modernization strategies, particularly IAM platforms.
Experience aligning cybersecurity efforts with business objectives and delivering measurable improvements in network security and IAM access control.
