What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educator position at EMERGYCARE INC?
Summary
The Educator provides coordination, management, and, when necessary, primary and/or secondary instruction of education and training needs required to support the mission of EmergyCare. The Educator may also be assigned the task of coordinating clinical and field rotations for students participating in programs managed through education, such as EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic Certification courses, as well as, but not limited to, biannual training days and skills competency reviews, and subject matter for specific continuing education programs. Also, the Educator will deliver AHA education both internally and externally. This position will also be largely responsible for the coordination and instruction of onboarding for new employees.
This position is required to function as a shared service between Education and Operations and the Educator will be required to function at their level of certification based on operational demand (i.e. Level Zero).
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of full-time EMS experience at the highest certification level (or equivalent part-time experience)
- At least one year of education experience. Time spent as an AHA, ASHI, NAEMT, or ITLS instructor count towards this experience requirement.
- A current certification from the PADOHBEMS as an AEMT or higher or eligible to obtain reciprocity in PA.
- Be certified as a PADOHBEMS EMS Instructor or obtain within one year of hire.
- Possess (within 90 days of hire) instructional certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and maintain required certifications in the future. The requirement for ACLS and PALS instructor will be waived if the incumbent is an AEMT.
- Possess (within 180 days of hire) instructional certification from VFIS in Emergency Vehicle Drivers Training.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational and student management skills.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, testing, and/or teaching methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects effectively/efficiently.
- Hold a valid Driver's License.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively as an AEMT or higher in the field and follow all requirements as noted in the respective job description.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Associates Degree or higher from an accredited academic institution.
- National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE) Level 1 Instructor Course Completion
- Hold instructor status in International Trauma Life Support
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
