Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to support daily laboratory operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in specimen handling, data management, and equipment maintenance. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Specimen Archiving: Properly store and organize biological specimens for future reference and compliance.
- Records Management: Maintain accurate laboratory records, logs, and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Instrument Maintenance: Assist in routine instrument cleaning, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
- Data Entry: Input and verify laboratory data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- General Laboratory Support: Perform other administrative and operational tasks as assigned, including inventory management and supply stocking.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including data entry and record-keeping.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new laboratory techniques and procedures.
