What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Assistant position at EMSL Analytical, Inc?
LA Testing is seeking a Laboratory Assistant in Huntington Beach, CA. This is support position for the laboratory manager and the analysts. It will oversee preparing, shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Receive environmental samples and log in/data entry the Chain of Custody into LIMS system
Review paperwork for incoming samples to ensure complete and accurate
Place samples in proper storage areas
Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis
Assist with cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment
Good lab practice
Accept shipping and handling items received by the laboratory from clients
Assist with high volume customer service client questions via in person, phone, and e-mail
Other laboratory and administrative duties such as filing, faxing, copying may be assigned by lab staff and manager as needed
Cross training in other areas as needed to meet business demands
Requirements:
High School degree/equivalent
One to two years of previous academic or commercial lab experience is a plus
Ability to work independently and with a team
Good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills.
Proficient in MS Office especially EXCEL and typing
Excellent customer service skills customer service experience is a plus
Must be willing and able to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignments
Available Shift:
Tuesday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Training schedule to start will be Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
