We are currently seeking an experienced Equipment Superintendent to oversee the management and maintenance of our construction equipment fleet. The Equipment Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of equipment, implementing maintenance programs, and managing equipment-related budgets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the maintenance, repair, and operation of the company's construction equipment fleet, including heavy machinery, trucks, and support vehicles.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of equipment.
- Coordinate with equipment mechanics and technicians to schedule repairs and maintenance activities, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Manage equipment-related budgets and expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies.
- Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to assess equipment needs for upcoming projects and ensure timely availability of required assets.
- Provide leadership and guidance to equipment operators and maintenance staff, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence.
- Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to equipment management and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in equipment management, preferably in the heavy civil construction industry.
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment, including maintenance requirements, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a team.
- Proven track record of implementing preventive maintenance programs and optimizing equipment performance.
- Familiarity with equipment management software and systems.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
