EMIT Therapeutics is an agency serving individuals with disabilities and behavioral challenges in the state of New Jersey. Primarily, we provide therapeutic intervention for children with autism using the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

The office assistant is an essential part of the support staff team that will enable us to provide the best services to clients and their families.
Summary:
An individual who provides administrative, clerical and office support to the Directors and Office Manager. The Assistant will work with Office Manager and staff to ensure that optimal operation of the practice, done in a timely and efficient manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Is highly knowledgeable with insurance calls and healthcare billing
- Open to travel to Spotswood, NJ
- Has experience in a Medical Office Setting
- Provides administrative services to Office Manager, Operations Director and Clinical Director.
- Serves as assistant to Office Manager, Operations Director and Clinical Director.
- Provides clerical support, including composition and preparation of routine written correspondence and emails to insurance companies, parents, vendors, therapists, etc.
- Obtains and enters patient and insurance information; verifies insurance eligibility.
- Assures provider's licensure is current: license, RBT, BCBA, Liability Insurance, Workman’s Comp, etc.
- Interacts constructively, tactfully and diplomatically with others and resolves conflicts effectively
- Maintains confidentiality regarding all company fiscal, personnel and family-related information.
- Prepares and coordinates mail, faxes and packages.
- Refrains from any use of cell phones, internet and email that is not related to EMIT Therapeutics duties.
- Acts as a positive role model for all staff, families and children working with EMIT.
- Maintains client confidentiality per EMIT policy and HIPAA Privacy Regulations.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Necessary Skills:
- Knowledge of insurance terminology and procedures.
- Exceptional computer skills and proficiency with all Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Social Media marketing
- Knowledge of and ability to create marketing materials when necessary.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills along with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good judgment and creative thinking skills.
- Demonstrates creativity, flexibility and the ability to prioritize and problem-solve.
- Ability to work with a variety of people, both within and outside the company.
- Ability to communicate appropriately under varying conditions (considers the environment, people present).

- Exercises discretion in private and sensitive matters.
Required Educational Qualifications and Skills:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years experience preferred.
Hours:
Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
Possible travel to Old Bridge or Spotswood office may be required.
