Job Summary:
The CNC Milling Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CNC programming, machining processes, and quality control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup: Prepare and set up CNC milling machines for production runs, including installing tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
- Programming: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files to create or modify CNC programs as necessary.
- Operation: Operate CNC milling machines to produce parts while adhering to safety and quality standards. Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure compliance with specifications. Perform in-process inspections and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and troubleshooting minor issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, and inspection results. Report any discrepancies or defects to supervisors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in CNC machining preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC Milling Operator or similar role.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code).
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality control techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and programming tasks.
Physical Requirements:
