POSITION: Financial Officer
SUPERVISOR: Friend of the Court Director
DEPARTMENT: FOC
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
SALARY GRADE: NBU 8
LOCATION: County Building

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining County financial records that pertain to State of Michigan IV-D accounts, as well as some Friend of the Court administrative duties pertaining to contracts with the State of Michigan and Intergovernmental Cases.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist staff and clients with financial questions and concerns related to IV-D functions
Collect support payments in person, by credit card and on-line
Accept and process requests for medical reimbursement in accordance with medical Orders
Process and monitor all child support (per capita) payments from tribal entities
Process and maintain income withholding orders
Post support payments into the MiCSES system and verify the accuracy
Add new Friend of the Court cases into the MiCSES system
Verify and enter Court Orders into the MiCSES system
Assist Senior Financial Officer with generating and working specialized reports as assigned
Update employment information for clients as requested
Process all incoming mail and attempt to locate updated addresses for returned mail
Assist case investigators in administrative duties and communication with other states on Intergovernmental Cases.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Ability to read a computer screen for extended periods of time, ability to work independently, active listening skills, conflict resolution skills, de-escalation skills, ability to read and understand court and financial documents, proficiency with Microsoft programs, specifically Microsoft Excel and 365. Knowledge of the use of general office equipment including multi-line telephone systems, multi-function copy machines, and windows operating systems. Experience with governmental accounting principles and governmental grant funding requirements is preferred.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree in Bookkeeping/Accounting preferred.
Minimum of 1 year Bookkeeping/Accounting experience required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.03 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
