We are looking to add an import specialist in Detroit, MI or NYC.

We are looking for an Import Specialist with not just a skill set in Entries but that can handle the full service from A-Z on a shipment. Being able to work with agents on routings and quoting to the clients. Transport moves either air or ocean including clearance and delivery. To help build and grow the small team we are developing in our growing NY Office. The right person for the job is conscientious and finds a sense of pride in their work. Great organizational skills, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are a must. The position requires strong math skills and solid knowledge of domestic and international geography. You will need to manage multiple tasks efficiently, work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment, along with the discretion to work with confidential documents. Candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Some travel and training may be required (depending on current COVID restrictions). During key projects or busy times there may be overtime hours.
Requirements:
- Specialist with 2-3 years of strong experience in classification, OGA, RLF, Entry and ISF for general commodities of all kinds
- Additional 2-3 years of strong experience in Air or Ocean freight forwarding, quotes and invoicing
- Strong Customer service and communication skills are needed
- Highly motivated individual that can work in a small branch office, able to troubleshoot and work independently
- Strong communications skills and ability to work with remote corporate office
- Ability to cross train and supervise others
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Able to work with Excel and will be trained if needed on O365 and Sharepoint
Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and submit all import documents in accordance with U.S. Customs Border and Protection regulations
- Prepare and process all documentation in compliance with FMC, C-TPAT and Company Procedures
- Coordinate the movement of freight with Overseas Agents, Customers, Steamship lines, Airlines, Truckers and Co-loaders.
- Prepare quotations for Overseas Agents and Customers
This position has the ability to grow into a management position within the branch or other areas within the organization both in the USA organization or internationally.
