JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Assists in developing innovative, creative, and strategic solutions to support high-priority communications objectives for Emory University.
- Assists with creating and presenting compelling, branded, sophisticated, message-driven products that support University strategic initiatives and communication and marketing.
- Responsible for aspects of video and multimedia production including meeting with stakeholders to determine job scope, developing concepts, writing scripts, storyboarding, and filming and editing videos that reinforce Emory University mission and brand to both internal and external audiences.
- Assists with seeking appropriate approval and input at key points prior to, and during, all phases of production.
- Compiles information and data for project reports, video footage activity logs, and communicates updates and status of projects to clients and administrative teams.
- Assists in scheduling and scouting locations.
- Assists the Director with staying abreast of relevant University events for coverage and documentary opportunities, and identifies and suggests opportunities for content and coverage.
- Assists with utilizing all current and emerging technology in videography, graphic animation, and editing to deliver finished products in accordance with project directives.
- May include some still photography as needed.
- Maintains consistently high-quality standards on all productions.
- Supports the efforts of development of Web content and maintains knowledge of format compatibility and spec standards to enhance functionality of video and multimedia content in an evolving digital environment.
- Collaborates closely with colleagues of other in-house creative teams to ensure integration of design objectives, and to develop creative, compelling visual solutions, graphic design, and technical support for a wide variety of projects across multiple platforms (digital, and social).
- Assists the Director in staying abreast of rapidly evolving technology and media platforms and stays current on training for all technical aspects of the various software, hardware and processes for multimedia production and online communication.
- Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's degree in film studies, video production, communications, journalism or related field plus minimum of five years of experience in a professional media/video production environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous work experience at an advertising agency, corporate in-house organization, major media organization, or higher education in-house creative team is preferred.
- Still photography skills are a plus.
OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES:
- Proficient in pre-production, production and post-production, including video production logistics and shooting both scripted and unscripted external and internal scenes on campus, in laboratories, or patient care settings.
- Able to set cameras, lights and microphones for make-shift interview sets.
- Proficient in editing and motion graphics.
- Leads and assists with creating and presenting high-impact message-driven products that support WHSC strategic and communication initiatives.
- Stays abreast of relevant WHSC events for coverage and documentary opportunities and identifies and suggests opportunities for content and coverage.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
