What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Engagement Director position at Empath Health?
The Community Engagement Director:
- Supervise and collaborate with Community Partnership Specialists to create outreach strategies as identified by needs assessments and other data sources.
- Consult with HR, Marketing and other leaders to engage in discussions regarding barriers to care and assist the Vice President of Engagement and Access with creating strategies to eliminate barriers.
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies and plans that support the organization's mission and goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, partners, and organizations to build partnerships and support for the organization.
- Attend community events, meetings, and outreach activities to increase awareness and engagement in the community.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that community engagement efforts are integrated with organizational programs and initiatives.
- Develop and manage budgets for community engagement activities and events.
- Develop and implement systems for metrics and reporting on community engagement activities and outcomes.
- Represent the organization in the community and with external stakeholders.
- Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of community engagement efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with Community Partnership Specialists to assist with facilitation of focus groups with community members as needed to inform engagement strategies.
- Identify, sustain and build community relationships within underserved communities to increase access to Empath Health services.
- Demonstrates leadership through strategic action and effective decision making.
- Professionally represents Empath Health to agencies, organizations, and the general public.
- Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education and/or Experience: minimum Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; in Human Resources, Education or related field preferred
- Three years or more of supervisory/management experience role including training staff
- Experience and demonstrated effectiveness in creating, implementing, and leading access initiatives
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills
- Demonstrates strengths in collaboration and partnership development to attain strategic goals and develop business plans
- Demonstrated success in community engagement with various community members and community stakeholders
