SUMMARY: The Card Services Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting all aspects of servicing debit and credit card products, the bill pay product, and servicing of Empeople’ s ATM fleet, successfully resolving member service escalations, and serving as a subject matter expert for Empeople debit and credit cards, bill pay product, and ATM fleet. Daily tasks will include maintenance, reporting, providing member and internal support, and member follow-ups. The Card Services Specialist is responsible for maintaining and managing relationships with multiple third-party providers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Promotes the Empeople Service Commitment and exemplifies internal service standards.
- Looks for opportunities to promote products and service usage to members.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on all card and digital payment products, including, but not limited to, debit cards, credit cards, bill payment, ATMs, and the technology and systems for each.
- Manages internal Cards and ATM helpdesk requests.
- Manages card, bill pay, and ATM related member service escalations and service events to ensure successful resolution.
- Coordinates with Velera, NCR, Diebold, and other vendors to drive issues to resolution.
- Performs card account maintenance in a variety of platforms for members or at the request of collections, Accounting, HR and credit union staff.
- Works closely with the accounting department on balancing of Card and ATM GLs.
- Assists AVP of Cards and Digital Payments with card reporting and analysis.
- Assists AVP of Cards and Digital Payments with card and digital payment projects, taking ownership of components as assigned.
- Participates in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Work with card vendors and internal resources to optimize fraud strategies.
- Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with current and forthcoming regulations in all aspects of services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge Of:
- Credit Union’s products and services.
- Credit Union policies and procedures pertaining Fraud.
Ability To:
- Operate a PC using the following software applications Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Operate the Credit Union’s financial software to access member accounts to perform transactions, account inquiries, and all fraud functions.
- Operate standard office equipment and tools such as a PC, Microsoft Teams, and telephones.
- Provide exceptional member service in keeping with the Empeople Service Commitment.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Analyze problems and provide solutions.
- Ability to work independently on a regular basis.
- Ability to make decisions using sound judgment, organize and prioritize workload, and maintain a professional relationship with members, employees and vendors.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or General Education Degree plus two years of related experience and/or training in a financial institution.
