Job Summary
Responsible for effective preventative and planned maintenance of site assets to maintain a baseline state. Responsible along with operations for equipment operating safely, and efficiently to ensure operational conformance and product quality. The maintenance technician effectively troubleshoots, breakdowns, and contributes to root cause identification and resolution to reduce unplanned downtime. This job requires strong communication, interpersonal and team skills to support site objectives.
Essential Job Duties:
- Compliance to the maintenance work schedule including logging appropriate information into SOMAX and closing work orders when complete.
- Ensure PM's are executed on schedule.
- Identification of recurring problems and the development of effective solutions to reduce the level of unplanned maintenance.
- Able to assess equipment operating reliability and perform routine repairs and troubleshoot breakdowns.
- Perform teardown and assembly of Unifiller automatic icing equipment.
- Understand and maintain HVAC systems including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of the equipment.
- Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine. Resolves questions and problems and refers complex issues to Maintenance Manager.
- Coach and support the site SQF standards.
- Follow company safety, GMP, behavioral rules, HACCP & other policies in the employee handbook.
- High degree of ownership for product quality
- High degree of support for the production and sanitation group.
- Must be capable of cross training other employees on machine operation and essential care.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Five years of experience in maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting/repairing manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of single and three-phase powered equipment, AC/DC controls, AC variable speed and Servo Drives. Ability to operate a Fork Lift and man lift.
- Knowledge of mechanical drives.
- Knowledge of welding and pipe fitting.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Effective oral and written communications.
- Computer experience with Word, Excel, CMMS, SOMAX, and other maintenance management systems preferred.
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and all scheduled shutdowns.
Physical requirements:
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and use of hands and arms.
