Warehouse Sanitation Associate

Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Primary Work Location: Rocky Mount, Virginia
Hours: 4:00pm – 12:30am Monday - Friday
Starting Pay: $16.00
Job Summary
Responsible for supporting listed locations EB, DW, RG, FG, cold dock, back dock, warehouse bathrooms, warehouse office, all shipping docks, cleaning ice around freezer doors, operating both scrubbers.
Essential Job Duties:
- Sweep and scrape floors as needed to prevent trip/fall hazards
- Pull all trash can liners and replace as needed
- Refill all soap, sanitizers, and paper towels as needed
- Understand all chemical uses and where to properly use each of them
- Perform specialized cleaning duties as needed
- Work safely and be always aware of surroundings
- May be responsible for cleaning to support non-production areas and offices as needed
- Be willing and able to cross-train in all areas of Sanitation
- Inform Management if compactors are beginning to get full in a timely manner so that arrangements can be made to have waste picked up
- Prepare for an actively participate in all company audits
- Be willing to help train all new Sanitation staff members
Qualifications:
- Regular attendance is a MUST to perform this job in a satisfactory manner
- Must be a reliable self-started willing and able to learn new responsibilities and work without direct supervision
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull a maximum of 50 pounds
- Must have machine operating ability
- Understanding proper uses of sanitation tools, mops, broom, and squeegees are a MUST
- The ability to work in a team environment with diverse personalities
- Knowledgeable in Food Safety requirements, GMP’s, Allergen program, HACCP, and Safety throughout shift.
- Must be able to read and understand all Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- Walking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching intermittently, use of hands and arms
