What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Aid - Overnight Shift position at Empire City Laboratories?
Laboratory Aide: Monday - Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
Job Description:
The Laboratory Aide will perform a variety of cleaning and service tasks, including labware processing, solution preparation, specimens filing and retrieval, specimen organization and delivery, cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Documents appropriate logs, including equipment maintenance and timesheets.
Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrates the technical and computer skills required in the laboratory.
- Demonstrates proficiency in retrieval of results and specimen/test information from reference laboratory interfaces/sites
- Performs routine and special functions accurately and timely
- Effectively monitors overall process and protocols for potential problems
- Works assigned weekends and holidays to maintain laboratory staffing
- Performs other duties as assigned in a satisfactory and timely manner
- Performs basic specimen processing

Requirements:
Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
Considerable standing and walking is required. The Laboratory Aide lifts, pulls and carries medium to heavy weights.
Must be comfortable with exposure to select hazardous chemicals.
Must be flexible. Assignments and locations will be determined upon hire and will be subject to change as needed.

Pay: Up to $16.50 per hour
