What are the responsibilities and job description for the Martial Arts Instructor position at Empire Dojo?
Empire Dojo is the premier Self Defense & Character Development academy in Harford County. We are a family owned & operated martial arts school. We specialize in teaching traditional & modern style martial arts disciplines. Our training promotes discipline, fitness, weight management, self-confidence, and leadership building.
We are currently expanding our staff and looking for a real "go getter" for our Abingdon location. We are in search for an kids self defense instructor for our junior programs in the evenings during the week.
Our ideal candidate may have some martial arts or fitness training experience (but not required). You might have managerial experience and know how to correctly lead people. You enjoy working with people and changing their lives in a positive way.
Responsibilities:
Instruct groups of kids and teens in our junior classes.
In charge of giving introductory classes to new members and prospective clients.
Demonstrate proper form and technique to ensure martial arts programs are effective, safe, fun, promote focus and discipline.
Must be available to work weeknights and some occasional weekends.
Must attend mandatory staff meetings.
Must send a resume to be considered.
This ideal person will report directly to the program director & head adult martial arts instructor of the dojo.
Qualifications:
Martial arts training is a plus but not required (we have a great instructor program to train you in).
Instructing children in the past is a plus but not required.
Passion and drive to work with teens/kids and help them grow into confident people.
Ability to build rapport with members & parents.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Must be outgoing and not afraid to speak to people or command a room.
Demonstrate confidence.
No criminal history.
Reliable transportation.
