Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Property Assistant to support our property management team. The ideal candidate will assist in various accounting functions and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of property management activities. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and providing excellent service to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Maintain accurate financial records using software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, or Xero.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and governmental accounting standards.
- Prepare financial reports and assist in budget preparation.
- Support the property management team with clerical tasks, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for property maintenance and repairs.
- Respond to tenant inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Assist in the preparation of lease agreements and other legal documents.
Experience
- Previous experience in accounting or finance roles is preferred, particularly in property management or public accounting settings.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, or Xero is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with GAAP principles and governmental accounting practices is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
