Basic Function: Supports the COO in the development and execution of internal and external communication strategies that align with ESD’s goals, priorities, and values. Coordinates between relevant teams to ensure consistent branding and clear messaging across all channels including public events, marketing channels, web content, program policies, grant applications, and public affairs.
Work Performed (List duties of this position):
- Support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to drive a cohesive communications strategy that promotes ESD programs, policies, values, and accomplishments.
- Advise the COO, executive team, and senior ESD leadership, including GO-SEMI, on communications strategies and initiatives.
- Assist in the development and execution of comprehensive communications strategies around GO-SEMI, Micron, and other key ESD initiatives as assigned.
- Identify and support industry specific communications and business development opportunities – including in trade publications, at conferences, industry summits, and other relevant opportunities.
- Facilitate opportunities to leverage and enhance existing and ongoing internal and external marketing and communications practices and initiatives to further strategic ESD objectives.
- Support the creation of clear, compelling content including executive speeches, articles, presentations, web content, and press releases when necessary.
- Monitor industry trends, audience sentiment, and media coverage to inform decision making and communications strategy.
- Produce public facing materials including presentation decks, printed collateral, video content, and other materials as needed.
- Coordinate clear, accurate, and relevant internal communications including briefings, grant application materials, policy memos, and other communications as needed.
- Represent ESD at conferences, announcements, hearings, meetings, and other events as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned by the COO and/or GO-SEMI Leadership.
Minimum Requirements
Education Level required: Bachelors’ degree required.
Relevant experience required: 5 years of relevant professional experience inclusive of the following: corporate communications, public relations, marketing or related fields; deep understanding of key industries including semiconductors; public administration, preferably in economic development within NYS; experience supporting executive management and leadership; strong communications, project management, and relationship building skills; strong experience managing the development of public facing media including video, print, and web collateral; excellent writing and organizational skills.
