Packaging Associates play a critical role in ensuring the efficient production and packaging of aluminum extrusions. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lift aluminum extrusions of lengths up to forty feet weighing up to seventy-five pounds from metal basket carriers to packing conveyor
- Gather all material needed for framing bundles (tape/stretch wrap/cardboard/paper/banding)
- Visually inspect metal while forming bundles looking for burrs/scratches/chips/gouges/dents/bubbles/die lines
- Ensure all pieces meet/exceed customer specifications
- Assemble bundles per foreman's instructions utilizing packing materials to meet customer specifications
- Assist/operate cut back saw station
- Acts as saw helper at the press
- Lift metal from racks/return after cutting
- Record appropriate piece count/weigh count daily
- Maintain a neat/orderly work area
- Assists with general housekeeping of the shipping area
