Student Health Centre is looking for a Registered Nurse to fill a roll in one of our onsite student clinics in Menomonie WI. We are looking for a RN that would also serve as our office manager to make sure the day to day operations of the clinic are being met.
About Student Health Centre: We provide clinics for students to use while in college. Our clinics provides primary care and psych services. When a student reaches out to us for the first time it is usually their first time seeking medical care without their parents. We use kindness, compassion and empathy to triage and treat these young health care consumers. We also will educate them on the importance of good hygiene, diet, exercise, sleep, etc.
Registered Nurse/Office ManagerJob Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Provide health assessments and assist in medication management of general medical patients
- Take phone calls to triage patients to make sure they are routed for the correct care
- Obtain comprehensive health histories and perform appropriate nursing assessments
- Work cooperatively with any physician, APNP, or PA to ensure the ordering of diagnostic and lab tests as appropriate
- Updates patient charts and electronic health records
- Be able to draw blood for labs
- Be able to administer injections such as allergy and immunizations
- Educate patients on current and/or future (pre-disease) health risk factors, such as high cholesterol, BMI, smoking/vaping, diabetes, and diet
- Manage employees for daily tasks, attendance and triaging issues.
- Maintain a positive working environment in the clinic.
- Relay information back to corporate office as needed.
- Perform various other tasks issued by manager.
- Work with the school to attend meeting/events as needed to maintain a presence for the school/students
- Communicate with Public Health on needs of the clinic, outbreaks, concerns, etc.
- Attend meetings with the school on various committees to have a clinic presence with the school.
Due to the nature of being in a school, this position's weekly hours vary between 21 and 40. The right candidate will work 40 hours when school is in session and 21 hours during breaks. Breaks are ~2nd week of May- ~ last week on August. 1 month in Dec-Jan (Winter break) and 1 week for Spring break.
Rate is $40-45/hour based on experience.
Available benefits include vacation pay, holiday pay, 401k. We also provide license renewal, continuing education reimbursement and time off for continuing education.
Clinic is open Mon-Fri from 8:00a-4:30p during schools terms and Mon, Wed, Thurs - 8:00a-3:30p on school breaks. Occasional additional hours may be needed for school events or meetings.
Registered Nurse/Office Manager Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous clinic RN experience and at least 1 year of supervisory experience in health care or related field required
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience working in a team environment
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting
- Demonstrated leadership and excellent critical thinking skills
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Passed background check and drug screening
- Experience in transgender and gender transition care preferred
