Description
The Employers Association of the NorthEast (EANE) is leading the search for an HR ASSISTANT for J Polep Distribution Services in Chicopee, MA. The HR Assistant will provide diversified support to the Human Resources Department, including but not limited to recruiting, benefits administration, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. The qualified candidate will perform general HR functions and enforce company policies and practices.
Responsibilities & Duties of the HR Assistant:
- Create and maintain job postings
- Coordinate on-site job fairs
- Interview prospective candidates
- Conduct regular follow-up with hiring managers to determine effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation
- Post open positions to appropriate internet sources
- Use social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates
- Onboard new hires
- Troubleshoot and assist with resolution of employee questions
- Maintain personnel, benefits, I-9, and attendance records in accordance with company, state and federal regulations
- Function as a liaison between HR Department and employees when necessary
- Coordinate work assignments, and training on relevant job duties
- Participate in company sponsored event planning
- Assist HR Department with day-to-day functions of the department
Requirements
Qualifications of the HR Assistant:
- 2-3 years related experience in a Human Resources department
- A.S. Degree in a related field, HR certification, or combination of related training and experience is necessary
- Be proficient with MS Office Suite
- Have the ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations including ADA, FMLA, PFM, DOL, and FLSA needed
- Bilingual Spanish/English is helpful
- Recruiting and interviewing knowledge and experience required
