What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician position at Employers Overload?
SUMMARY: Conducts, as directed, test and data collection activities throughout the plan on equipment and component parts. Perform installation and necessary repairs of equipment and components when necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keeps immediate supervisor up to date on all on-going projects, regarding project status, completion time, and any problems that may have arisen.
- Conducts tests on machines and components as established by policies and procedures and/or written test plans
- Maintains accurate records of test results and reports
- Conducts tests on overhead cranes and keeps accurate records to reflect service records
- Operates required machinery and equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintains a neat and clean work area, follows established tool and instrument control procedures, and reports any unsafe acts or conditions to Team Leader.
- Performs inspections and installations of parts and components on equipment, maintains accurate records of the installation of these parts and the collection of test data.
- Build fixtures to carry out various needs associated with the machines or components.
- Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Performs related duties as assigned by team leader/supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To do this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Education or GED; Technical Degree is beneficial but not required. Three to six years of related experience.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute, rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret metal rules.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee constantly works near moving or mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
