Senior HR Generalist

Employers Resource is a leading California Human Resource Administration Company. We specialize in assisting our clients navigate the legislative complexities of Federal, State and Local regulatory compliance.

This position will be located in San Marcos, CA and will have the eventual ability to work a hybrid telework schedule.

We are looking for a Sr. HR Generalist to join our team and implement various human resources programs. This role requires knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and procedures. Knowledge of staffing and employment practices, employee relations procedures and applicable laws.

Sr. HR Generalists have an in-depth knowledge of human resources functions, from hiring to onboarding and from employee compensation to performance evaluations. You’ll undertake a wide range of HR tasks, like organizing trainings, administering employee benefits, managing leaves of absence and crafting HR policies. You will use Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up to date. You’ll act as the main point of contact for our clients Executive/Management Team and their employees’ queries on HR-related topics.

Successful candidates will possess:

· Certified (PHR) and/or SHRM-CP

· Four year degree or relevant field experience

· Great interpersonal and small group communication skills

· Professional appearance and demeanor

· General proficiency with applicable laws/regulations.

· Prior experience in policy/procedure development

· Prior experience with training and presentations

· Ability to consult with business owners, C level executives and key personnel

· Strong knowledge of federal, state and municipal leave law interactions

· Strong organizational skills

· Ability to work successfully with diverse personalities.

· Ability to be on site at the home office in San Marcos, CA is required.

Senior Human Resources Generalist duties:

Implements human resources programs by providing human resources services, including, new hire onboarding and orientations, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, completing personnel transactions.

Develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information, recommending courses of action.

Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.

Manages client expectations by communicating project status and issues; resolving concerns; preparing reports.

Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; communicating pertinent information regarding legislation that affects client directly, advising management on needed actions.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations, attending relevant webinars.

Reports to: Chief Operations Officer

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $86,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
