WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As the Human Resources Director, you will effectively and strategically lead and direct the Employment Department’s Human Resource division. You will provide the agency infrastructure to recruit, retain, and develop talent; classify positions; compensate talent; grow strong employee and labor relations; manage the employee record system; and manage HR data and information. Duties include:
  • Directing agency-wide HR functions through subordinate managers including developing and implementing agency-wide policies, procedures, and effectively using resources to carry out the agency goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for setting the vision and culture of the HR division.
  • Directing the administrative operations of the HR program including budget development, organizational structure, fiscal, contract, and position management.
  • Providing a critical agency-wide leadership role as a member of the agency’s Executive Team.
  • Contributing to the achievement of the Department’s Vision, Mission and Values, as well as the Department’s Operating Principles and Goals, and carrying out the agency’s affirmative action, diversity, equity, and inclusion goals and responsibilities.

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Seven (7) years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience; OR
  • Four (4) years of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field

IN-STATE HYBRID REMOTE WORK INFORMATION:
Candidates may be approved for hybrid remote work. Hybrid remote work suitability is evaluated based upon business needs at the time of hire. Hybrid remote work approval can be revoked at any time. Candidates are expected to:
  • Reside within (or be willing to relocate to) Oregon, or one of its bordering states within a reasonable commuting distance (e.g. Vancouver, Washington) within 30 days from date of hire.
  • Be able to report to the Salem Central Office as needed. Typically, 1-2 days per week depending on business need (i.e. Executive Team meetings, bargaining, etc.)
  • Demonstrate access to a broadband internet connection that meets or exceeds the minimum acceptable requirements;
