Responsibilities:
- Advocate for clients by meeting with them to assess their cases and develop legal strategies.
- Conduct legal research and writing to draft demand letters, pleadings, motions, and correspondence to opposing counsel.
- Investigate cases by interviewing witnesses and gathering key evidence.
- Litigate cases by taking and defending depositions, drafting discovery requests and responses, and preparing for hearings.
- Represent clients in court by arguing motions, attending status conferences, and representing clients in bench or jury trials.
Requirements:
- A current license to practice law in Maryland.
- 0-3 years of civil litigation experience.
- The ability to work at least one day per week at our Urbana, MD office.
- A strong interest in civil rights and/or employment law.
