The Employment Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting individuals in securing meaningful employment while providing support and guidance throughout the job search process. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of job seekers to identify strengths, skills, and barriers to employment.
- Develop individualized employment plans tailored to each client’s needs and goals.
- Provide training development sessions to enhance job readiness skills, including interviewing techniques and resume writing.
- Facilitate workshops and group sessions focused on workforce development topics.
- Collaborate with local employers to identify job openings and promote inclusive hiring practices.
- Offer addiction counseling support as needed, ensuring clients have access to necessary resources.
- Mentor clients throughout the job search process, providing ongoing support and encouragement.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and employment outcomes in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Educate clients about their rights under employment labor laws and assist them in navigating any workplace challenges.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in social work or human services or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, or workforce development is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of employment labor laws and regulations affecting the workforce.
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with addiction counseling principles is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and employers alike.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is an advantage.
