What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Desktop Support Technician position at EMPLOYMENT & TRAINING CENTERS INC?
We are looking for an onsite IT Desktop support technician with at least two years of experience. The Desktop Support Tech provides desktop and server administration support to the Houston, Cy-fair, Conroe, Texas City, Richmond, Liberty, Beaumont, Colorado and Florida offices. The Desktop support Tech plays an important role in assisting firm employees troubleshoot problems with computers and software.
Position details:
Type of Position: Full Time/Temp to hire
Salary: $20-$25 per hour depending on experience
Hours: 8am -5pm with one hour lunch
Location: 4828 Loop Central Drive, Suite 600, Houston, TX 77081
Essential Functions:
1. Provide Prompt & Professional Technical Support to End Users
2. Setup New Employees – Computer, Access Cards, Phone, Applications, etc.
3. Troubleshoot & Diagnose Technical & Connection Issues Related to Desktops &
Peripherals
4. Install, Upgrade and Troubleshoot Desktop Operating System & Applications
5. Maintain & Manage Desktops – Wipe, Refresh, Re-Image Desktop PC’s
6. Maintain & Manage Network Printer Fleet – Troubleshoot, Escalate to Vendor
7. Resolve Basic Issues with all LGBS Mission Critical Applications
8. Advise on Software or Hardware Upgrades
9. Troubleshoot Basic Voice and Connectivity Issues with Phones
10. Ensure Firms’ IT Security Posture is Maintained at all Times
11. Maintain Excellent Documentation on IT Processes and Procedures
12. Cross train on mailroom application and act as backup for mail processing
13. Act as backup for routine mailroom runs
14. Work on other IT related projects
15. All other duties assigned by supervisor and manager
**This position will require driving once the temp period is completed. We will need:

- Valid Driver’s License
- Proof of insurance on personal vehicle that they may be driving for work
- MVR Background check, employees must have a CLEAN DRIVING RECORD
- When the candidate begins driving, they will be added to the random drug testing pool due to driving company vehicle or own vehicle for work purposes.
The ideal candidate should possess the qualities below:
- At least 3 years of experience preferred but open to entry level candidates
- AV monitoring & remediation, through familiarity with MS Windows, OS and office productivity suite
- Ability to Troubleshoot the following
