Position OverviewAs the Executive Director of the Tower Theatre Foundation, you will play a key role in providing visionary leadership and strategic direction. This position offers the unique opportunity to guide the organization’s operations, including programming, marketing, production, finance, and administration, while ensuring alignment with TTF's mission and strategic objectives. You will work closely with the Board of Directors, as well as lead a talented team of directors in a collaborative, supportive environment that fosters professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Holistic Leadership and Oversight
- Set the overall direction and tone for TTF, aligning organizational activities with the mission and strategic objectives.
- Manage a diverse team of staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and accountability, including ensuring staff follows the strategic direction of the Board of Directors.
- Ensure director reports provide effective supervision, coaching and mentoring for their reports.
- Lead initiatives for growth and special projects, identifying opportunities to enhance the theatre’s impact and reach.
- Establish annual operational goals for staff and conduct regular performance reviews to evaluate progress and provide feedback.
- Maintain an open-door policy for all employees, promoting transparency and effective communication across the organization.
- Provide high-level oversight of all productions held at the Tower Theatre, ensuring adherence to artistic standards and operational excellence.
- Serve as the face/voice/personality of the organization in the community (i.e. on commissions, board advisory committees, press reports, etc.).
Strategic Advocacy & Engagement
- Serve as a leader in advocacy for the Tower Theatre and the performing arts community in Central Oregon by cultivating strong relationships with local and state representatives and enhancing the Tower's outreach efforts to engage influential donors, businesses, media outlets, and other key stakeholders.
- Assume final responsibility for all communications to the community, overseeing marketing calendars, press interviews, and promotional materials (i.e. season brochures, program playbills, etc.).
- Collaborate with appropriate staff to develop and implement strategies that enhance the theatre’s visibility, attract diverse audiences, and create reliable revenue.
- Help oversee the fundraising calendar and major initiatives, engaging one-on-one with prospective and current major donors and sponsors as needed.
- Ensure the effective delivery of member and sponsorship benefits, working closely with relevant staff to maximize support.
Executive, Financial, and Board Duties
- Ensure fiscal soundness and compliance with budgetary constraints, making strategic decisions to support mission-driven growth and financial sustainability.
- Oversee facility management, IT systems, communications, HR functions, and other administrative areas to ensure smooth operations and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as an ex-officio member of the Tower Theatre Foundation Board of Directors, offering support and guidance as requested.
- Collaborate with the Board to advance organizational priorities and fulfill fiduciary responsibilities.
- Support the Board as needed and requested.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in theatre management, arts administration, nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field or the equivalent of combined education and experience.
- Significant experience in theatre management, nonprofit leadership, or arts administration is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grant writing, donor cultivation, and revenue generation, with a strong ability to build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, financial planning, and financial analysis.
- A solid understanding of arts administration principles, including audience development, programming strategies, marketing, and community engagement.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and motivating staff, collaborating with board members, and fostering a positive organizational culture.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse perspectives and experiences.
- Adaptability and flexibility to navigate changing business climate, trends, and industry standards while maintaining the theatre’s mission and values.
- Commitment to upholding high ethical standards and integrity in all aspects of theatre management.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks related to financial, legal, operational, and reputational matters to protect the theatre’s interests and assets.
- Familiarity with relevant technology tools and software used in theatre management, such as ticketing systems, CRM platforms, digital and email marketing tools, and financial management software.
Compensation
- $90K-$120K/yr. commensurate with experience
