JOB DESCRIPTION
The HR Business Partner (HRBP), employed by HR MGMT 10 LLC as the Employer of Record, will serve as the state HR Representative for our partnered cannabis brand. The HRBP will be responsible for partnering with Retail and General Managers to support people operations across multiple locations within the state. This role involves managing employee relations, overseeing payroll processing, implementing HR policies, and driving talent development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, excellent interpersonal skills, and experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Support Retail and General Managers in People Operations:
- Partner with General Managers and Retail Managers to ensure accurate and timely completion of timecards and adherence to timekeeping processes.
- Provide guidance and support on HR-related tasks such as attendance tracking, employee relations, and disciplinary actions to ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
Timecard Management and Payroll Processing:
- Manage the timecard approval process for all employees within the state to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Process payroll for employees in the state, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and timely payment.
Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution:
- Act as a mediator and advisor in employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and coaching managers on handling employee issues.
- Ensure a positive and compliant work environment by addressing concerns and facilitating open communication among employees and management.
HR Policy Implementation and Compliance:
- Oversee the consistent implementation of HR policies, procedures, and compliance with state and federal labor laws.
- Ensure all HR activities align with company policies, culture, and values, and provide support to managers for compliance-related issues.
Talent Management and Development:
- Support managers in identifying talent development needs and facilitate training programs to improve employee performance.
- Lead efforts in succession planning and career path development for team members, ensuring readiness for future growth.
Recruitment and Onboarding Support:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and ensure a smooth recruitment process.
- Assist in onboarding new hires, ensuring they are integrated effectively into the company culture and operations.
Performance Management:
- Guide managers through the performance review process, ensuring consistent and fair evaluations.
- Develop action plans to address performance issues, providing coaching and feedback as needed.
Workforce Planning and Analysis:
- Conduct regular workforce assessments to identify trends and provide strategic input to management on staffing needs.
- Use data-driven insights to recommend HR strategies that support business goals.
Compensation and Benefits Administration:
- Ensure compensation practices align with company policy and market standards.
- Serve as a point of contact for managers and employees on benefits-related inquiries, supporting them in understanding and utilizing benefits effectively.
Employee Engagement and Retention:
- Develop and implement initiatives to promote employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Monitor and address employee turnover and develop strategies to maintain a stable and motivated workforce.
HR Projects and Initiatives:
- Lead and support HR-related projects and initiatives that drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement HR programs that support company objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, preferably as an HR Business Partner or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations, particularly those relevant to the cannabis industry.
- Proven experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and MS Office, particularly Excel.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 21 years old.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required state-specific certifications for HR roles within the cannabis industry.
- Physical ability to perform typical office tasks, including sitting, standing, and using computer equipment.
